Most plumbers need public liability. Add employers' liability if you have staff, optional tool cover for equipment, and professional indemnity if you give advice or design work.
Gas work is a separate trade on our form. See gas fitter insurance if that is your main work.
It is not a legal requirement for every business, but many clients, sites and contracts expect it. Employers' liability is legally required when you employ staff.
If your work includes advice, plans, specifications or design, professional indemnity protects you if a client suffers financial loss because of an error in your work.
